My Art - Page 1

I'm certainly no artist and if you ask me to draw a person then don't expect anything more complex than a stick person. With rats, and some of the related images on this website, I'm trying to make an effort. As of early November 2007, I started drawing rats so let's see if things improve over time. Being able to draw even the most basic silhouette and then adding a layer of fur hides a multitude of flaws. Until I can develop a skill for more detail, that level of simplicity will suit me just fine.

Here's a quickie I made while waiting for my wife. Unplanned rough sketches are always fun to draw. (24th Nov. 2007)

This rat was drawn with Sumi ink (borrowed from my wife). The background also received a light charcoal tint for substance. (10th Nov. 2007)

An inverted version of the image on the front page allows for making an albino rat. Inversion and eye done using Fireworks. (24th Nov. 2007)

Testing a new calligraphy marker pen. One of my pet rats kindly added the finishing touch to the rat tail.  (7th Nov. 2007)

Here's another quick sketch of a raggedy rat. (10th Nov. 2007)

A mixture of using a regular ink pen and a calligraphy marker pen. (15th Nov. 2007)
